TMI Tuesday

This is a tribute to the late great George Carlin.

1. What is your language pet peeve? (example 'hot water heater', why would you heat hot water) Conversate is one of my favorite language pet peeves. Makes me cringe. And the saying on tomorrow. Or the party was on yesterday. Why can't we just say the day?

2. What is your favorite word? Both dirty and clean?
Onomatopoeia (because I knew what an onomatopoeia was and how to spell in, I got to write it on the board in my 7th grade English class. RIP Mr. Morris). My dirty word, MF. It's a powerful word, I only pull out if necessary. And you have to hit the right stress for the right emphasis.

3. What is the one word you cannot spell?
It's not that I can't spell it, I type it wrong about 90% of the time. I type sent when I mean send.

4. What is the one word you always pronounce wrong?
Statistics. I stumble over the syllables. Oh, and syllabification. I never said that word in grammar class. Got an A though!

5. If you could erase one popular catchphrase from the English language, what would it be?
I'm making moves. Or I gotta make moves. Oh shut up already. You ain't moved nothing (see below).

Bonus (as in optional): The late, and very hot Michael Hutchence (INXS) once sang, "Words are weapons, sharper than knives". What is the most hurtful thing you have ever said to anyone? Was it deliberate or accidental? What was the most hurtful thing ever said to you? Do you think it was deliberate or accidental?
I told him he don't deserve ish because he was an ain't ish nigga and insulted the size of his endowment. It was quick-fired but deliberate. Both statements were true but the latter was just for effect. His endowment was alright with me!

The most hurtful thing said to me wasn't a particular phrase. It was just the questions that sounded like they doubted the veracity (truth) of what happened to me. Just because I didn't fall apart on cue or didn't respond like the scripted Benson and Stabler.

  3. I agree with Organized Noise.
But I need to say something different so that I won't sound like a mindless twit. Here goes...
I was here, and now I'm gone. Those who knew me knew me well. Those who don't can go to heck!

    Do I sound smart now?
